Clipper ticket resurrects spirit of the Clippercard on Metrolink trams

The Clippercard is dead… long live the Clippercard! Well, that’s how we may have reported on the self-cancelling ticket’s demise if East of the M60 was around in 2004. Years after the original ticket’s demise, Greater Manchester Transport’s ten-trips-for-the-price-of-nine tickets still carry fond memories. You might have travelled with a Clippercard by fair means (with a black plastic wallet) or foul (by boarding and passing the card on to your friend).

Four brass bands from Section Four to One showed off their playing techniques at Boarshurst Band Club last night [10 September]. This was in advance of this weekend’s National Brass Band Championship of Great Britain finals at Cheltenham. Countdown to Blackpool: The North West Regional Championship Preview

Boarshurst Band Club, 21 February 2016

Four Saddleworth bands could land a place in the National Finals if they succeed in the North West Regional Championships at Winter Gardens, Blackpool. This coming Sunday [28 February] will see Delph, Greenfield, Boarshurst Silver and Uppermill bands competing for a place in the nationals. Two Saddleworth bands, Delph and Greenfield, were among five brass bands at a preview evening in Boarshurst Band Club last Sunday.
