Two year partnership with Stagecoach Manchester and St. Ann’s Hospice hailed a great success

Stagecoach Manchester is celebrating the end of a hugely successful charity partnership, which saw the company raise over £20,000 for St Ann’s Hospice. A group of big hearted Stockport residents have raised over £2,000 for St. Ann’s Hospice, following a mass moustache growing challenge. The team of hirsute employees were led by Malcolm Goodwin (41), a Daw Bank depot driver, whose mother has worked at the hospice for 30 years. Bus Driver Cycles from John O’Groats to Lands End

Bad weather and broken hand unfazed Stagecoach Manchester employee’s successful 950 mile cycle ride, all in aid of St. Ann’s Hospice

For some people, 950 yards is hard work on a bicycle without a set of stabilisers. By any measure, 9.5 miles is a vigorous cycle ride. These trifle into insignificance compared with the mileage travelled by Jason Stenson.

The 39 year old bus driver from Stagecoach Manchester’s Sharston depot has travelled 950 miles (or 1.672 million yards if you prefer) from John O’Groats to Lands End, all in aid of St. Ann’s Hospice. After training in May, he endured adverse weather conditions such as torrential rain, thick fog and high winds, and overcame a broken hand.
