With the schools reopening, albeit in the throes of a pandemic, the need for social distancing on public transport is greater than ever. At present, the most a double decker bus can hold is up to 35 passengers with no standees. In addition to this, parts of the government furlough scheme is winding down to encourage us all to return to working away from home, which could mean the return of the rush hour.

So, how many shopping days to Christmas, now? If you’re already stuck for choice in terms of eating venues, Tameside is about to get a few more additions. Besides the KFC in Hyde, which is likely to open in the New Year, there is news of three more arrivals in Ashton Moss. In the last month, there has been a surprise return of an old name.   • Return of the Ashton Christmas Market;
  • Stalybridge health shop closure;
  • Last link with Ashton-under-Lyne Cooperative Society ended;
  • Ashton and Denton affected by Phones4U liquidation.

With one quarter of the financial year over comes the latest rent reviews. The recent summer plus fear, uncertainty and doubt over The Great EU Vacuum Cleaner Panic seen in the mid-market newspapers, may have been a fillup for the economy.
