Stagecoach Manchester will also operate night buses on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day morning from Hyde to Manchester city centre on the 201 route. For the first time since MOT registrations began (we think), this means no New Year’s Eve nighttime/New Year’s Day early morning buses from Ashton-under-Lyne to Manchester city centre. The times are as follows:

As with previous night buses, special fares will apply with a flat fare of £3.00 (or £5.00 for all night buses operated by Stagecoach). If you own an AnyBus season ticket, CountyCard, or an ENCTS concessionary pass, climb aboard as normal. If you have a Manchester Megarider or an Adult Dayrider, you too can make savings on the night fare and climb aboard. Please note that the aforementioned tickets need to have been purchased before 8pm.

Wednesday 01 January 2020, New Year’s Day

The 201’s New Year’s Day frequency is the same as the last year’s.

Likewise with New Year’s Eve night time and most of New Year’s Day. These will vary according to operator, whether via their own tariffs or standard Tameside MBC/Oldham MBC tariffs. If you are using Uber, be wary of surge pricing – particularly outside bus operating hours.

Wherever you are going on Greater Manchester’s bus network over the yuletide period, have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
