Two employees also nominated in nationwide awards ceremony
In less than a month’s time, the cream of Britain’s bus industry will be celebrated at this year’s UK Bus Awards. Taking place on the 20 November, at The Troxy Cinema in London, this ceremony recognises bus people and bus operators from John O’Groats to Land’s End.
Stagecoach Manchester will be making their way down to the opulent Art Deco cinema with six nominations across five categories. These are for: Top City Operator; Top National Bus Depot; Engineer of the Year; Young Manager of the Year; and Top National Bus Driver.
Stagecoach Manchester has two nominations in the nationwide bus driver category, with Joanne Morgan and Steven Irvine making the last eight. Joanne (Sharston Depot) and Steven (Hyde Road Depot) have been recognised for their outstanding customer service and commitment.
Greater Manchester’s biggest bus operator, in terms of fleet strength and market share, have been nominated under the Top City Operator and Top National Bus Depot categories. Last year, Stagecoach Manchester picked up the bronze award in the former category.
From Stockport Depot, Ben Coghlan has been given two nominations: Young Manager of the Year, and Engineer of the Year.
Elisabeth Tasker, managing director for Stagecoach Manchester, commented: “At Stagecoach Manchester, we’re always looking for ways we can make our customer experience even better. Everything we do has the people we serve in mind, from increasing our range of payment methods to making services more convenient.
“This is a fifth time in six years that Stagecoach Manchester has been named as a finalist in the Top City Operator category, which just goes to show how committed we are to enhancing our services.
“The individual nominations for Joanne, Steven and Ben are a testament to the hard work and dedication of all of our staff. Our team are committed to giving customers the best possible service at all times, and I’m pleased this has been recognised by organisers of the UK Bus Awards.”
