Chalkers’ Snooker Club, Newtown, New Mills, Derbyshire, 10 – 11 April 2014.
It’s that time of the year again. Now in to its fifth year is Hills and Mills, High Peak and North East Cheshire CAMRA’s beer festival. It has started to establish itself as a regular fixture in the real ale fanatic’s calendar.
As with previous events, the venue is Chalkers’ Snooker Club, Newtown, the festival begins at 1200 on Friday 10 April, running till 2300 hours with a similar time the following Saturday.
Once again, this year’s event will be supporting the Blythe House Hospice. Again, our fellows from Buxton Brewery will be sponsoring Hills and Mills, albeit as one of four sponsors. The other three sponsors are the Green Mill Brewery and the two Glossop breweries, Howard Town Brewery and Frank Wood’s Mouselow Farm Brewery.
With the recent spell of good weather, why not take a trip to New Mills? If you wish to enjoy your ales outside or have a smoke, there is an outdoor seating area.
As usual, there will be a wide range of locally brewed cask conditioned ales mostly from the North West of England, Derbyshire and Yorkshire, plus a selection of real ciders and perries. Admission is free with the venue being easy to find on public transport. High Peak’s 199 service stops near the door with New Mills Newtown being the nearest railway station.
Feel free to download the Hills and Mills poster for 2015, another one of my creations. Print, share and tell your friends…
