Stagecoach Manchester staff from Ardwick depot recognised for long service
Nineteen bus employees from Stagecoach Manchester’s Hyde Road depot celebrated a collective 551 years of service at the company’s annual Long Service Awards, held last month.
Manchester resident, Christopher Icely, a service delivery manager at Stagecoach Manchester’s Hyde Road head office, clocked up 36 years’ service, while John Walker and Arthur Ward, who have both been drivers with the bus operator and its predecessors for 35 years, were commended for their time in the industry.
Engineer, Ian Hare, driver, Michael Duckett, Stagecoach UK data manager, Charles Allen, and Stagecoach Group HR manager, June Ashton, each celebrated 35 years’ service.
Commercial director, Raymond Cossins, schedules officer, Mark Ashburn, marketing officer, Anthony Howard-Smith, drivers, Samuel Liburd, Michael Madden, and Peter Heys and engineer, Anthony Cavanagh, were all rewarded for 30 years’ service.
Training administrator, Glynn Carter, driver, Roy Spence, Stagecoach Group pension’s administrator, Ann Lloyd and assistant operations manager Mike Stevens, currently based in Carlisle, received commendation for 25 years’ service.
Inspector, Terence Appleby and drivers, Karen Taylor, David Renshaw and Chokri Boulakhras were thanked for 20 years’ service to the business.
A total of 36 Stagecoach Manchester staff, who collectively have over 1035 years of service between them, were presented with their awards by traffic commissioner for the North West of England, Beverley Bell, at The Lowry Hotel, Manchester.
