Greater Manchester bus employees honoured in annual awards dinner
Thirty-nine members of staff have been recognised at Stagecoach Manchester’s annual Long Service Awards, where they celebrated more than 1,200 years collective service. They were honoured at the Lowry Hotel, Salford and congratulated by former GMPTE chief Roger Jones with a gift of their own choice.
The dedicated members of staff including bus drivers, electricians, engineers, head office support staff and inspectors, served between 20 and 45 years. Some of which joined in the GM Buses era whereas some worked for Greater Manchester Transport and SELNEC before then.
Christopher Bowles, managing director of Stagecoach Manchester, commented: “We are very proud to have so many loyal and long serving staff members. Their commitment to the job has helped establish and maintain our excellent reputation in the region. All recipients had served with the company for at least 20 years and seven members of staff were recognised for 40 years or more spent with the company, which is an incredible achievement.
“The Long Service Awards have given us the opportunity to show our genuine appreciation to the people who make the company what it is.”
