Whit Friday 2013 Results: Tameside Contests

East of the M60’s classified check on Tameside’s Whit Friday Brass Band Contests.

Foden’s continue to sweep the board in Tameside

At all but the Dukinfield, Denton and Heyrod contests, Foden’s picked up top prizes throughout the borough. In Tame Valley, they were eluded by the Vernon Building Society. The top prize went to Rothwell Temperance Band in the Heyrod contest, which had the most bands in Tameside. At the Denton Cricket Club contest, East Yorkshire Motor Services band were winners. Foden’s were also runners-up at the Denton, Dukinfield and Heyrod contests.

Stalybridge Old Band picked up Third Section prizes at the Broadoak Hotel and Droylsden (Bush Inn) contests and came third in the Tameside Local Championships. Mossley Band came fourth at the Broadoak Hotel and won the Best Second Section prize at the Top Mossley contest.

Foden’s picked up the £2,500 prize for the Tameside Open Championship with Rothwell Temperance picking up £1,000 for second place. Ashton-under-Lyne came third in the Tameside Open Championship (£750) and first in the Tameside Local Championship.

As with last year, Tameside Radio sponsored this year’s contests, with individual prizes sponsored by local businesses.

  1. Think your deportment prize for Audenshaw is out of date (last years). Been personally informed by the venue contact that Coleshill Town won it this year.
